Since I began painting watercolors my world has changed. My eyes see shapes and values; when I squint I see depth. A vintage car is not a red car, but reflections of shapes of cadmiums and alizarin. An ocean is not blue but cerulean and cobalt, and sand is a jaune brilliant.

My works are photo realistic. I love the challenge of painting extreme value contrasts, and when I've finished a piece and it speaks what I hear and see and feel, then it's a good day. Art is my drug of choice.
